The performance of our products--friction materials--is determined
by the interaction of many raw materials. Our manufacturing processes
include steps such as curing and heat treatment, during which chemical
reactions occur. In consideration of these characteristics, we design
manufacturing processes and daily control procedures that ensure
a continuation of the high quality levels developed by our design
engineers.
Quality control in the manufacture of Nisshinbo friction materials
is both dedicated and individual. From raw material through manufacturing,
our quality control program is integral to the process. As a dedicated
process, quality control policies require numerous testings, along
with reports and verifications. Individually, every station requires
a visual inspection after process, and everyone is empowered and
encouraged to scrutinize both process and product to maintain the
highest degree of product integrity and streamline production processes.

Nisshinbo's Quality Control Laboratory employs sophisticated instrumentation
performing more than 32 different tests. Our dynamometer testing
center defines the edge of performance in product integrity and
performance to meet customer specifications and continually define
new thresholds.
Nisshinbo's quality assurance manual is completed with direction
from the ISO/TS 16949 quality management system standard. We are
proud to have earned
ISO/TS 16949:2002 certification in November 2005.
